Hervé Niquet signe un magnifique enregistrement du Requiem qui s’appuie sur une version proche de celle de 1893, élaborée à partir de l’œuvre originelle de 1888. Une démarche philologique qu’il partage avec Herreweghe, le chef s’efforçant d’inscrire son interprétation dans l’esprit de l’œuvre tel qu’il ressort des écrits du compositeur et des comptes-rendus des exécutions originelles....
We finished the recording and mixing of the Faurés Requiem together with Hervé Niquet and the Flemish radio choir in studio 4 at the Flagey building .
Already a legendary recording.

With the exemplary recording of Challenge Classics, as we have by now gotten used to, the playing and the full bloom of the ‘Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin’ are both more than evident.
I could not find any weakness. Highly recommended without any reservation.
